A Voting Consensus

It is Wednesday evening, and as I write this blog post, the ballots in our presidential and some Senate races are still being counted or re-counted and lawsuits have been filed and more threatened.  But do not worry, this blog post is not about that voting.  Instead, it is about a voting consensus that has already been reached: the 2021 Best Lawyers.  The attorneys at the Law Offices of John Day won big again this year so, of course, we want to share that good news with you, explain the process and why it is important, and give you a quick checklist of things you should look for should you ever need to hire an attorney.

First, we are proud to announce that our firm and our lawyers have received the following recognition from Best Lawyers for 2021:

The Law Offices of John Day

Best Law Firm

John Day

Medical Malpractice Litigation – Plaintiffs

Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs

Product Liability Litigation – Plaintiffs

Bet-the-Company Litigation

Brandon Bass

Product Liability Litigation – Plaintiffs

Laura Baker

So what is Best Lawyers and why is Best Lawyers’ recognition important?  To be considered for Best Lawyers, a lawyer must first be nominated.  Thereafter, leading lawyers in the same practice area and geographic area are asked to complete a detailed and sophisticated survey about the lawyer’s skills and qualifications.  Thereafter, the results are analyzed by Best Lawyers and then the results are revealed.  A lawyer who receives the “Lawyer of the Year” award has received the highest overall peer feedback for that practice and geographic area.

As mentioned above, this year, Brandon Bass received the Lawyer of the Year award in Medical Malpractice – Plaintiffs – Nashville.  John Day has received the Lawyer of the Year award also.  In 2009, he won Personal Injury Lawyer of the Year – Plaintiffs – Nashville.  In 2010 and 2014, John won Medical Malpractice Lawyer of the Year – Plaintiffs – Nashville.  In 2012, John won Lawyer of the Year for Bet-the-Company Litigation – Nashville.   This type of recognition by a lawyer’s peers helps prospective clients know who the legal community considers leaders in their field.

This is important because hiring a lawyer can be confusing, intimidating and anxiety-inducing.  Generally, if you need a lawyer, it is because you have a problem of some sort whether it be a will contest, an injury accident, a criminal matter, etc.  You need a lawyer who is experienced and can solve the problem efficiently and effectively.  You do not need a lawyer who is just going to become another problem.  So how do you hire the right lawyer?   We have developed a checklist to help you with the process.  And just as importantly, we are here to answer your questions in a free, no-obligation consultation.  So, if you have questions about a case, do your homework using our checklist and then give us a call.  We would love to interview for the job as your lawyer.
