Smiles, Encouragement and Tips – Week 5

It is time again for a mid-week boost.  First, over on our Facebook page, we have another contest going.  We have had so much fun doing this and reading everyone’s responses.  This week, all you have to do to be entered to win a $50 VISA gift card is tell us where you would like to be quarantined, if you could choose anywhere in the world, and why.  Now, here is some good news and an important legal tip.

This made us smile: for the past few weeks, a Florida woman has been wearing her old Halloween costume, a unicorn, while she jogged her neighborhood.   Friendly car honks, clapping neighbors and delighted children have been the result.  Love this!

Your legal tip this week may seem obvious but it is surprising the number of people who do not do it.  If you have a legal question, seek legal advice.  This is true whether you have a personal injury case, a business dispute, a bankruptcy question, a criminal problem, a domestic issue, a wills and trusts question, etc.  Most lawyers will talk to you for free in order for them to understand your problem and to let you know if they can help you with it.  Depending upon the complexity and importance of your legal problem, we recommend you interview a couple of lawyers.  For accident cases, we have written a checklist of questions you should ask so you can make an informed decision on who to hire.

Ultimately, you and the lawyer with whom you discuss your legal issue may decide you do not need to an attorney. That is OK.  The only thing you have lost is maybe an hour or two of your time, but you have gained valuable peace of mind.

At the Law Offices of John Day, we always offer a free, initial consultation.  We have two full-time intake specialists who answer calls from prospective clients.  These intake specialists, Penny Whitaker and Lauren Bates, will ask you questions about your injury case so they can get the critical information for us to know whether we think we can help you or not. If we think we can help, our award-winning attorneys will explain your legal rights and option to you.  From this point, if you decide to hire us, we will handle your accident case on a contingency basis, so we only get paid if we recover money for you.  Unlike a lot of firms who ask their clients to take out expensive litigation loans, we advance all case expenses to pursue your case.  If we are successful with your case, those costs are reimbursed to us, without interest.  If we are not successful, you owe us nothing – no attorney fees, no costs.  With our office, you have nothing to lose by calling to see if you have a viable injury case.

Finally, here is one more smile.  Check out tussenkunstenquarantine over on Instagram.  It is a site where folks replicate, in their homes, iconic art.  We love how creative people are and this site never fails to make us smile.
